| What games to do for 2004? Purdue,
Iowa or UCF at home seem like a possibility, as does Ohio State,
The on the road.

Had a great time tailgating in East Lansing in
November. Was impressed by the 70 degree temperatures and the 22
year old trying to pick me up. Was impressed by the 40-something
who tried as well. Was impressed with friends, old and new. Was
not impressed by a 41-10 asskicking.

| Went to the Buffalo / New England
game on September 7, 2003. It was a terrible game as well, but at
least the Bills won. Went to the game with Trev, Smitty, Mark,
Jim, Corwin and a cast of thousands. Didn't hook up with Kris. It
seems some redheads can't face the sun too long. AND I GOT TO EAT
PRIMANTI BROTHERS!!! |

| Went to the Penn State / Boston
College game on September 6, 2003. Jesus, did this game blow. A
couple of blown coverages, and we are down 14-0. A missed cut
block, an interception return to the one foot line, and we are
down 21-0 halfway thru the first quarter. Still, aside from
the game, I had a hell of a time. Met John and Brenda, as well as
some guys from Bermuda who had escaped Hurricane Fabian's wrath
like me. Colin is great to tailgate with. And Clem's BBQ is always
a welcome consumable. |

| Went to the Edmonton / Toronto game
on August 9, 2003. Didn't get there early enough to tailgate, and
it wasn't a true tailgate, it was a sponsored event. In my
opinion, tailgating would help the CFL tremendously. Who doesn't
like to eat and drink? Edmonton, of course, won, 49-20. |
|
| Went to the Calgary / Saskatchewan
game. They actually have tailgating in Calgary, which impressed
me. The stadium, while small, is a pretty decent place to watch a
football game. The CFL, relative to American football, is at a
vast disadvantage in that people are less close to the action
because the field is bigger. The stadiums in Calgary and Hamilton
are the best places to watch a game. Toronto is a terrible place
to watch a game, because SkyDome is crap and Toronto is a lousy
sports city. Commonwealth Stadium is a bad place to watch football
because the track makes you even farther from the action. At least
Edmonton is a good sports city. Hopefully, the idiots who want
bigger ice surfaces in the NHL realize that a bigger ice surfaces
would make fans even farther from the action and make for a less
attractive product. |
